this happened to me a few years back been out lamping had a good night 19 if i remember corectly on the way back to the motor i left him off the lead he could clear 6 foot without touching it but for some reason he wouldn't follow me over the 5 bar gate i just thought he's had a hard night the poor fecker so i put the rabbits down on the groumd and went back for him i lifted him over the gate gave him a pat said come on lad nearly there we both continued across the field about half way across he fell to the floor and started fitting i dropped the rabbits and put the dog round my neck like a scarf easiest way to carry a 26 inch dog i carried him as fast as i could over the 4 remaining fields before reaching the car i lay him down on the back seat and he had another fit i was about 20 miles from my house but a friend of mine lived on route about 3 mile from where i was so i knocked him up out of bed being around 2 in the morning took him into the house and got some sugar water down his neck to put some glucose back into his body thinking i'd ran him to hard got a blanket off him wrapped him up the continued home he had another fit on the way back i got home left the dog in the car and phoned the vet he advised me to keep him warm and comfy and bring him up in the morning which i did the put him on a drip and kept him in they told me to ring back at 4 so rang back good news he was up on his feet and was making a recovery but they were going to keep him in over night i was so excited i never slept a wink i phoned the vet first thing only to be told he'd died in the night the post mortem reveiled he had anti freeze in his blood stream prberbly from drinking out of a puddle that a tractor had leaked some anti freeze into i then remembered i had to shout at him about 10 mins before the fit because on his way back from running a rabbit which he missed he stopped for a drink from a puddle so please be aware and rip biff :notworthy:
