im glad im frineds with vets!! :clapper::clapper:

ive just had someone look at your bill, apart from a few odd thinsg here and there that oddly seem to be covered by discount all is well.

vets (especially out of hours) are expesivce. due to the drugs yours have used it could of been more expensive to. there markup isnt huge either.

i bow to your devotion to the dog,i honestly couldnt afford to spend even 1/4 of that ammount on my dogs.its a disgrace vets charging that ammount.

why is it a disgrace? I just dont get it???? it doesnt look overpriced at 1st glance....why would anyone running a business, employing a number of people, having mega expensive equipment and training and overheads....charge peanuts??? I just dont get it when people moan about vet bills as if vets are robbing them. I regulalry have 4 figure vet bills at the end of the month......if its 3 figurs im laughing! I dont resent it, I have a 1st class vet at my disposal 24 hours a day and I value his many years experience, training and dedication. he also has to make a living out of it, like we all do!!!

Well it has to be done, Fortunately mine are insured but i'd give my last penny and sell all my belongings to pay for vet treatment for my dogs if they needed it.

I spoke to Strongstuff a couple of days after the dog had the operation and he said the dog was in a really bad way it looked like they were going to lose him. Any true dog man who cares about his dog would get them the treatment they need, especally when it's life saving surgery.

I suppose i'll have to wait a while stronstuff before i ask for that loan :whistling:

Dont listen to Mr Attention Seeker. Big vet bill , dogs insured, insurance will fit the bill. Why the crocodile tears and irrelevant post ? Put up some interesting posts of your years in the hunting game Mr SS. Anything to sell a collar, you have stooped very low.

There's a reason this is on here, just because you don't know the reason doesn't mean there isn't one.

No crocodile tears here.

Not selling anything, am on here to do more than sell, find my last post that was anything to do with selling a collar ...........

I think you're a cock to be honest, just looked through your posts, where are your hunting posts?

I've had one season hunting am at the start of my second, I don't need to take photos, or post about my nights out thanks.

Those that know, know, and cocks like you can shove it up their arse.

Think I sent you a message recently with my number, I must have missed your call eh?

SS this gunner is an antagonising fool mate I had me run ins..

As for vets bills that's an eye waterer that is. I had to pay the best part of a grand rebulding the old dogs ear after the jack and pattjack went sick on him...... and I wasn't insured  this is what we do if we love our animals

WBF that's a rather obnoxious statement

I probably wouldn't be able to pay a bill that high but if I had the means I most certainly would - so long as the dog would have quality of life post op. They give us a lot, they deserve the same devotion.

My family are all quite well off and none of us would be willing to spend two grand on a vets bill. That's outrageous!

Well off or not. A vet bill is a vet bill and if you value your dogs or your livestock then you have to/must pay. Anyone who isnt willing to pay cant really value their stock very much. Or is it "we,ll just get another 1" mentallity.

Exactly why I won't be making them wait for their money.

The vet hospital he went to, has 3 vet nurses on all night every night, at least 1 vet on site, not on call, actually there.

That sort of service is very valuable, yes the insurance will pay (eventually!) but I won't be asking the vets to wait for their money, I signed the agreement, I won't be letting them down.

I wouldn't just get a new dog. We would definately phone around a few vets before we chose one. I wouldn't go for the first vet.

What was the obstruction SS?

We're told it was a fabric type blockage, this dog doesn't have toys because he gets very obsessed and possessive with them, there are no curtains missing in the house, his bed is intact etc, it could only have been 1 thing.

But quite how a so called bio degradeable tug could block his intestines is a mystery, unless of course it wasn't actually just cotton but a mix of cotton and say maybe polyester or lycra perhaps? :icon_eek:

I did ask for the blockage from the op, but vet said I couldn't have it because it was a bio hazard and rules is rules and all that.

Oh i see now. So when your dog is dying or at deaths door youll spend precious minutes or hours phoning round to save maybe £20. Sounds like a plan that does mate.
