2434me 13
If you knew about it and went to the police ? Wouldnt they say that you were part of the fraud ??? Better be carefull what you admit to or you could get done for more than debt maybe ????
Paid 935
Dont admit to knowing anything about it, and try to fight it. Better you contact the collection agency yourself, saying this is all news to you, and you do not owe this company anything. Also get done to the citizens advice and have one of there lawyers take a look at it.
arnieboy 93
1st thing find out why they are coming 2nd find out how much is owed and if or when he stopped paying then if you knew about the FRAUD make arrangements to pay you are part of it you as much as gave him your permission to go ahead and commit the FRAUD by allowing him to use your name . Wxm 1,638
i'll tell you what happened:- i was workin in a factory by me an this lad knew i just had a house from the council. (he got sacked a few weeks after i had my house) so i was in work one day and the boss shouted me and said your uncle is on the phone what i thought was a little sus cause my uncle dsnt know my works number. so i answered the phone and it was this lad shane the one that got sacked (no realation). he said do you need anything for your house?? he said he had a cooker, fridge ect cheap. i said yeah go on then so he asked for my last name and my post code so i gave him my mums address as it was easier to drop nething off. Any way a few weeks weny by i forgot all about it Well a woman went to my mums (loan collector) looking for payments. my mum said what for beacause i've never taken a loan out as he's got money. so we found out it was that shane and a bloke called andy (that was taken the loans and is realated to shane) that tuck the loan out. shane said he was skint and needed the money and did'nt think id have any trouble with it nor find out about it. they agreed with the loan woman that they would pay for it and i'd here no more. but 4 years down the line i have a letter off a debt collecter wanting payment. the only reason i knew about was the fact that the woman came to my mums house for payment not because i was in on it. Wxm 1,638
the amount owed is 205.20 to park direct that has now closed and is taken over by some debt collection company
Kay 3,709
But surely the lad would have had to have provided something with his name & address on at the time of taking the loan out & possibly some proof of earnings as well ?
Wxm 1,638
no nothing and the loan company worked with cash
stealthy1 3,964
If I were you I'd get my breif to sort it out, sounds like your mate stitched you up big style, the problem with dept collectors is they charge for their time, the debt may be 205.20, but if they get involved it will rocket
Wxm 1,638
but surly im not liable for this as its the wrong d.o.b and signature and i was'nt even living in the address at the time
Kay 3,709
no nothing and the loan company worked with cash I dont get this , some lad has money handed over to him just like that without him having to proove where he lives or weather he can pay it back or not who are they mate i could do with a couple of hundred if its that easy
stealthy1 3,964
but surly im not liable for this as its the wrong d.o.b and signature and i was'nt even living in the address at the time I'll bet your mates saying the exact thing, ring them and see what the score is, if you leave it they will take it to court, and then it gets more expensive
Trev 4
lol, i know this isnt a funny situation for you but its made me laugh. Get over to the shane bloke and persuade him to pay it, i.e smash his head in if he dont its that simple, he has already tried to cost ye money so dont waste any more on solicitors or the like.
