farlap 19
ive done it 4 times now. Its much harder than bringing on one as they tend to bond more with each other than i d like. its double the training and double the trouble and definitely only for those with a lot of experience. id suggest that as your mate has to even ask, then probably they dont have the experience Quote Link to post
wulf 32
i have found that they dont concentrate and just want to play with each other. i would just train 1 at a time Quote Link to post
ferreterni 29
Agree with both the above comments, also I have found that at times, my terrier cross will only hunt properly when another dog with her, due to me bringing two on together. Getting better with age, but a real pain in the arse. Quote Link to post

furdy 0
I have two coming on. One is 11 months, the other 7 months. There are advantages and disadvantages. They certainly are close and when together operate as a gang, they are starting to work well together which is something I'm happy with but I've also been careful to give them individual time. The best thing to remember is that two pups will be different so dont expect to compare tehm like for like. You'll need to weigh up the progress of each seperately and respond to their needs differently. I think it can slow maturity a bit as they retain the puppy play attitude for longer but dont see this as a bad thing. Pups should be pups and more dogs are spoiled by early entering so be patient with them. bad habits are quickly passed from one to the other too so you'll need to be solid and consistant with training. If you want to work the dogs primarily single handed then bring on one pup at a time, if you want to work them together or with other dogs then although hard work, two can be better. stealthy1 3,964
I like to walk them together, but train them seprately, I find that while your training one, the other is tw@ting about distraciting the one your trying to train, I also find the training to be more solid if you train one to one Quote Link to post
owendbowendb 132
Cheers some good replys there, the dogs would be probably worked on a bit of lamping and mooching/ bushing etc, in a bit of a bobbery pack really. My mate is considering it so need as many anwsers from lads that have done it, Isnt there some one bringing on two bull cross litter mates on here ? a black and tan, cheers Quote Link to post
Paul in North Lincs 15
I once trained a 12 week ESS along side a lurcher pup - was a night mare!!!! but only because there were two completley different training regimes involved - both made fine dogs in their own right but never again!!!!!! - two lurchers i cant really comment upon! - but best of luck!!!!! mally 832
I'm hopefully going to be bringing on two whippet pups next year when i breed from my bitch. I'd never try traing them together though all dogs need to be trained on a one to one basis and may need different training methods, Looking forward to it.. Quote Link to post
