Sunday Morning Out

Recommended Posts

Pointer, my nephew and I had a ride out to see Amanda and Scott this morning for a spot of ratting. We arrived at the farm at around 11 a.m. with 4 Terriers, a Lurcher and started inside the pig pens. The rats did their best to escape but only two managed to get away, the Lurcher is learning well and no longer fetches the rats back live to hand :clapper: . After half an hour or so we moved outside. The cover is still really thick at moment but the dogs used their noses well to sniff out the rats  .

By this time the sun was getting hot and it was starting to affect the dogs so we called it a day and decided to go.

The black dog is also coming along nicely and what a good looking dog he is turning out to be :victory: .

17 rats in total in about an hour and a half with great company :friends: and my nephew enjoyed himself so much he wants to go again and take his terrier  :11: .

thanks again for the invite ;)

we just need some colder weather for the dogs and for the cover to die back.

i finished the day by taking my pointer out onto a long bankside which has thick cover where he hunted up and flushed three fox.they were safe from him on this land but it was good to see him hunting them.a perfect finish to what was a great weeks hunting.

It was great to be out with you two :good: , the dogs did make some good catches together and there's always one rat that likes a close encounter with Scott in the pigs pens :11: :clapper: .
