billbroon 9
Sorry to here about your ferret mate, It all sounds a bit dodgy to me. How could the dog even see the ferrits over a six foot fence to know they were there. If it was me a would be investigating it a wee bit more. billy Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
Sorry to hear about your ferret , but i find it hard to believe a dog shinned a fence & opened the cage & killed it Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
any damage to the cage? a dog would scratch at the door/bite the mesh if no damage then someone opened it for him i would say. a husky could probably jump a six foot fence if he wanted,i doubt he would have done it straight off,he would need a couple of tries( why would they not stop him then?).he could probably smell the ferret through the fence. are they the type to do something as nasty? either way i would like to know how you get on? i'm not indicating that anything untoward has gone on but i would have a chat with the neighbor as to what has gone on. replacing your valueble worker is the least he /she can do imo. let us know how you get on. atb Quote Link to post
l2a2mlam 0
sorry to hear that you came home to that. if they are admitting that their dog did the deed then you should be able to get some sort of compensation from them, possibly? Not sure if what they are saying is the truth but many years ago we used to have a GSD that loved to scale our 8ft fence to go and chase the airplanes taking off and landing at the local RAF base, so it could possibly have gotten over, but as to how lucky it was to open the hutch up also. Well you may never know the full truth. Quote Link to post
