came home to dead ferrit

Recommended Posts

came home form ma work yesterday to find one of ma ferrets dead

the people over the back door claim there dog jumped a 6 foot fence and opend the cage and killed bob ma hob

now firstly a, not sure a husky can jump that fence and second why did they not jump the fence after it as they say they were out in the garden when it happend

if ma dogs or even worse ma kids had been out there it would of been much worse

it takes me a few minutes to open the hutch as its a 3 teir one and is very secure just dont add up to me

anyone else experinced anything like it and if so what action did they take

cheers

any damage to the cage? a dog would scratch at the door/bite the mesh if no damage then someone opened it for him i would say.

a husky could probably jump a six foot fence if he wanted,i doubt he would have done it straight off,he would need a couple of tries( why would they not stop him then?).he could probably smell the ferret through the fence.

are they the type to do something as nasty?

either way i would like to know how you get on?

i'm not indicating that anything untoward has gone on but i would have a chat with the neighbor as to what has gone on.

replacing your valueble worker is the least he /she can do imo.

let us know how you get on.

sorry to hear that you came home to that.

if they are admitting that their dog did the deed then you should be able to get some sort of compensation from them, possibly?

Not sure if what they are saying is the truth but many years ago we used to have a GSD that loved to scale our 8ft fence to go and chase the airplanes taking off and landing at the local RAF base, so it could possibly have gotten over, but as to how lucky it was to open the hutch up also. Well you may never know the full truth.

the door of the hutch was ripped off however the other 2 doors are fully in tact

the local police are now involved as the guy whos dog it was is just saying oh well its only a ferrit and by pure luck and chance the bobby dealing with it is an old mate who also keeps ferrits and has done so for over 17 years

will keep you posted on the out come

cheers stevie
