jusar whippets 10
Hi folks What wound cream do you guys use on your dogs for scratches, grazes & bites etc... Cheers
Guest Rod&dog
Depends on how big and deep the wounds are,,Salt water and aloe vera gel (straight from plant) are very good at healing quickly. But for deeper wounds from barbed wire etc, i would get them stitched up asap. Edited September 18, 2009 by Rod&dog
ulverston moocher 60
I use salt water depending on the wound i use purple spray from the farmers suplies and some times fullers earth to dry the wounds up.
TOM TERRIER 173
That purple sprey is quite good, also use iodene, but the best thing ive found is Tetradelta, farmers use it for mastiteus on cows. It comes in an injection shaped tube, and heals cuts up realy well.
sam3009 4
salt water to clean the wound. Equimins wound powder is good as its a blood coagulant, so it stops the bleeding
Sonny Brindle 2
For superficial wounds, put some lavender essential oil on it. It is a natural antiseptic, helps reduce scarring and tastes horrible so the dog will not keep licking the scab off.

shovel 160
I always use salt water to clean the wound first. The best thing i find to use then is the anti biotic cream u find in a mastitis tube for cows used by farmers. It heals up wounds very quick therefore dog is often back to work following week.atb shovel

Guest chook
Salt water to flush, then hibiscrub to clean it up then i use intrasite gel, as it keeps the area moist which helps promote healing and it also helps to debride the wound, depending on what type of wound it is i will also debride it myself as it can help the healing proses.
