billbroon 9
As title says after my work i had a look around my new permission. Because its a huge hill (old valcano) a just stayed to the lower parts, man it was some walk. As a was walking around there was loads of cows and am alwyas a bit weery of them but they didnt bother about me. There were 4 or 5 nice warrens a seen that were only between 5 and 9 holes and a few bigger ones more than ten holes which i will leave just now till ferrets get more experiance on the smaller ones. In the last field i was walking around trust there to be a big white bull but he didnt bother and just kept grazing. Heres a few piccys. billy Quote Link to post

rosspti 2
Looks like a Charloais Bull to me (sha-roe-lay). This breed is a very popular one in the UK. It originated in South East France as a draft animal pulling carts and ploughs. A few decades ago when people decided that they wanted leaner beef, this breed was imported to the UK as it is lean and quick growing. Unfortunately it proved a little too lean, not as tasty, and it cannot be fattened on grass alone and needs lots of corn. As a result the pure Charloais Bulls are used to cross with traditional breeds such as the black Aberdeen Angus, or the brown and white Hereford. This produces a very good crossbred beef animal. They are a fairly docile breed and bulls are quiter than the dairy bulls like Fresian or Jersey. However, never take any chances! If he is having a bad day, or there are cows or calves around then you could be greeted by 150 stone of angry bull. That's like you versus 8 angry New Zealand All Black Forwards. Scrum down boys! The hills always been great for foxes mate i had about 14 off it last year and about 10 off sandys next door, think its probably one of the dumping spots used by the RSPCA,Its just about now that i get out with the lamp to start sorting them out,its a fair trek from here but well worth the trip the hill certainly gives you a workout when you walk right round iti normally dont get home till about 2.30-3am,But remember to give Bill a call before you go on mate it keeps us all safe....
