Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Phone call from a farmer to say that there was a lame fox about and could i come to sort it out as well as any more that might be seen.Hes trying to set up a bit of a shoot so fox control is high in the list of priorities .First fox seen was on the lower ground by the river and it came screaming in so fast i had to shout at it to stop ,a cub ,but it was the last time it would do anything as i shot it freehand at 30yds approx .The next one was near his cubicle shed and was a cautious animal ,obviously interested in my squeaking but not enough to commit to travelling any closer .We walked to within 100yds approx and i lead down to take the second one of the night ,an oldish dog .Out the back of the farm house we found another and this was the lame feller .He came to the squeak as best he could ,it was painful to watch really as he was dragging a leg out flat behind him ,totally useless .Shot him at roughly 70 yds and found he had mange as well .Cracking night oput really and some good control .Farmer well pleased this morning with an offer to attend the first shoot in November .Result .
