i don't know if im being paranoid or not but for a while now a white transit van keeps popping up with two men in it, iv seen them where i walk my dogs (about 2 mile from the house) and iv seen them parked out side they have also drove past really slow looking at my one lurcher in particular. The mrs went over the takeaway about 45 Min's ago as she has some weird cravings at the moment as she 7 months preg, any way when she was coming out a man was coming to wards her and said that's some nice dogs you got and she just ignored them,he then said whats in them, now the mrs swears its the same guy that has been driving the white transit as its not a face you will forget. he always has his mate with him and this isn't the first time she has been approached by this man she was quite shaken up about it so what do you think is it just a coincidence? or should i be watching my dogs more careful than i already do. My dogs live in doors anyway. the one guy very fat bloke and always has a hat on, his mate is scrawny looking.

dont leave your dogs alone any where, not in the house or the car....not out of sight when they are having a run. get their number plate. take a photo of them with your phone (when they can see you do it). put up cctv and signs....if they try toget into conversation tell them your bitch is a rescued speyed useless thing. ;)

Every day a van was parked outside my house watching my dogs etc. Lucky a copper friend came and helped me out as i gave him the no plate they were gypsys. Just be careful and if you are out with the dogs take a mate read on this site that dogs have been taken when their owners walk them on a lead.

Make it obvious you've taken their no. plate down.

Aye, if your instincts are telling you somethings up, then it's always worth taking note. I know a chap who had a similar experience -- people watching his dogs, etc -- but he did take details. One of his terriers did go missing, but he was able to give details to the police and they found the dog about 200 miles away. Apparently there were about 11 stolen dogs at this place, most got reunited with their owners.

. . . It's always worth taking note.

:clapper: Well done him. Nice to hear something positive on this sad subject. As I said make it obvious you've taken his no. plate. Write down sign and date every little thing. Date, times, descriptions, etc

They'll probably do one if they think you're suspicious.

That's a heartening tale - so often the police don't take stolen dogs seriously, they just treat them as a regular lost dog, "see the dog warden, are you sure it hasn't just run off? etc etc"

I'd take it seriously if someone was loitering around eyeing up any of my animals. Get no. plates, photos, descriptions, etc, and make sure your dogs are safe wherever they are.
