david901 165
Some females are not that big. My old redtail used to fly at around 2lb 6oz. She was diffinately female. Its hard to give any advice over a forum as you can't see the hawk in the flesh. You would be better off seeking out the help from someone more experienced who can actually handle the bird and see if she is overweight or if there is another underlying problem. It is better to get the hawk to come instantly over a short distance than for her to take her own sweet time at a longer distance. Its also better to call her for a large reward a couple of times than to call her lots of times for small tidbits. For what its worth, i would advise to never try and rob her of food when on the fist or she may take offence. Good luck with her. Just my opinion. David Quote Link to post
