It is good to watch and the dog really gets his nose down and uplifts the bracken with some style.

My dog tends to air scent more when hunting normally but if I give him the fetch command and he has been unsighted he goes into that mode of hunting looking in every possible bit of cover- to me it reminds me of a pig rooting ! great to watch.

i seen the vidio very good but what i cant under stand is why the dog is working cover with nothing in it i no its part of the training but i got 2 cockers and the 4 year old will go in and come out if there is nothing there if there is some thing he wil not come out till it does weatheres its a dead bird or alive.

what im saying is she is telling the dog to work bushes when he and she no there is nothing in there

I was a bit puzzled which is why I put it up.

As I said my dog hunts/quarters well but tends to air scent for the game scent cone and then homes in- then barbed wire would not stop him !

He only does that every lump of cover mode of hunting (as in the video)when I give him the fetch command as he knows there is something there. I used to hide his dummies in training.

Anyway whatever she says to him it is good to watch as you are left in no doubt as to whether there was any game there. I have watched it a few times in case I have missed a bolting bunny !

that dogs got drive looks like a pure training run mybe bunnys moved on beforehand seams to be lots of scent the handeler looks to be keeping control by lowering her hand and body to indicate to the dog that there is something there for him to find control but showing the dogs natural ability very good to see.

Sorry been off-line a while thanks for the nice comments

That video was taken years ago, my dog Finn is now nearly 8 years old and style honest, biddable and hunts with the same amount of drive, there was no game in that ground at all, he would hunt concrete if I tld him to, he always aims to please. FTW with awards in open trials, one of the best springers I have had and will ever have,
