Swampy 147
Addicts are a product of our society and we are responsible for them. MY ARSE! What will be interesting to see in the long term is if the specific crime goes down as the scum no longer "need" to thieve to buy drugs, then where will those who make a living selling it get their money from? It's displacement of crime. Watch the armed robbery rates go through the roof ............. These people are only addicts because of the society we've created. So if your not an addict you're an armed robber..........Blimey with a view like that we are fecked as a society! Swampy Criminal Ning Im sorry Swampy but how have we created this society? I don’t sell or take heroin I don’t buy their stolen goods to fund their habit. All I do is work hard and keep my self to my self how are we normal hard working people responsible for these dirty scumbags and their disgusting habit? atb bedrock If our society was a perfect one (I know it isn't!) then there would be no addiction to anything. It is I know a eutopian dream, however we must accept that for whatever reason (and there are many) these people have turned to drugs. As a result they are addicted. I do understand that many people on here just think they are wasters who have no right to live but surely rather than just right them off and kill them it would be better to cure them and use them as an example to others to prevent it occurring again. Many addicts were hard working, educated family orientated people who still have much to offer. They have families who still love them despite their problems. The project was a trial to solve a problem that exists. It is one way of solving the problem. I personally believe that it puts our society in a good light and shows that we have the ability to show compassion. We live (or are supposed to....I know Dosser for one doesn't think so....and I'm inclined to agree to an extent) in a democratic society. As a community we should look after the old, the young, the weak, and the sick. If you do not beleive this then to what regime would you sign up for? A society where we euthanise mentally handicapped children at birth one way the crippled are "put down" as they cant work for the common cause? (Not that one Dosser) Old people who can't work any more are got rid of? Smacks of Animal Farm and not the porn version!!!! I for one would want no part in a society like that! Sorry if it offends folk but its my view and in this forum I believe that I am still able to voice it.......Hopefully that right hasn't been removed yet................! Swampy 147
Another thing that realy pisses me off is smack rats that keep having kids and the first time somebody suggested they should be steralised all the P.C brigade came out of the woodwork.Wat sort of woman gets pregnant wile addicted to that filth I would suggest a woman who was off her box on crack and got laid to pay for her "hit". More than likely the dealer. Why have most here have it in for the victim and not the dealer? Stop the dealers stop the addiction rgds Swampy ning

There is enough help out thre for them help out there for them they are given methadone and put into rehabilitation centres they are given places to live, they are benefits and even have people in the job centre looking to find them employment. What more can we do? I believe that if we give them heroin It will stop nothing. The police don’t want any thing to do with them and just leave them get on with it. I witnessed this at first hand when I was working on the refurbishment of the law courts in Merthyr Tydfil there was a group of addicts sitting on the war memorial opposite injecting heroin in the middle of the day in front of family’s and children the police just left them to it when one of the OD an ambulance came and took her away within two days she was back doing the same thing. There are better things to spend our money on like the NHS. One last thing Do you know who the high profile celebrity influence is? The one who is leading the campaign to support the legalisation of smack, Ian Fraser Kilmister the lead singer of Motorhead and hes a dirty scag head to. atb bedrock
RicW 67
Just seen in the paper the goverment are planning to start givving out free skag and special centres so all the skag heads can go and shoot up at the taxpayers expense!! If that happens I think it will be time to look to foriegn shores.........a country that condones and helps such madness and filth is no place to raise kids . Some of you guys should learn to read. Every country in the world that has set up "shooting galleries" has seen a massive reduction in petty theft, street crime, violent crime AND drug addiction rates. Switzerland used to be as right wing as some of you clowns. Since they decriminalised heroin and crack the crime rate has gone down by 40%. Like it or not liberal drug regimes save the taxpayers money. Just for the record I've tried a lot of drugs, never used a needle. Ric

Not a bad advert for drugs! How old is he? All these other projects have failed. So now we have one that actually works....without killing anyone! Heroine was only criminilised (I believe) in the late '50s. Since the criminilisation of heroin addiction has steadily risen to the ridiculous levels it is at now. RicW comments are valid. Lets learn rather than bury our heads in the sand and kill everything. Rgds Swampy Ning
