Yo Airgunners, just got back from checking some rabbit proof fencing that's protecting some trial crops, its been up for two years now and the rabbits are doing their best to get in and feast :D But not while I'm there they wont, its quite a big field and an awkward shape, woodland on one side and open fields on the other, dont ask me what the crop is, its just called by a number, but it looks like corn to me ;) Anyway I get brownie points from the land owner if I wire the runs and shoot any thing trying to get through the mesh, I used to take my GSD to pick up the runners, but he's too old now, and has gone into retirement this year, I have replaced him with a lurcher, but at the moment she's too young at six months old to be running across large open fields and fence lines, so I have to walk it myself with the HW1OOT until she grows a little more, its amazing how many rabbits walk over open fields just to see whats on the other side of the mesh proofing, and even more amazing how many dont make it back :D So it takes about two hours to walk around the field and check for holes and diggings, the trick is when the rabbit runs into the open field is to stop, and 9 times out of 10 they stop, thats when you whack them :D On this wander around the mesh I bumped off 4 nice sized bunnies, I missed one that just kept running, and disappeared into the distance, the dog would have picked that one up easily, unlike me :icon_redface: Another rolled into some brambles, I heard it twitch a couple of times, but once it stopped, I just could'nt find it, f**k ripping up a giant bramble bush just for one rabbit I thought, its a pisser when you lose one eh! So after a nice walk, I had four to show for my efforts, enough to keep the ferrets happy :) And the one that disappeared over the horizon, I'll get him next time ;)

Nice little trip you had your self there mate, shame about the rifle :whistling: pic would have looked better with a AAS410 in it. :notworthy::toast:

That fence sounds ideal for some fence snares :boogie:

I did set some snares where the rabbits burrowed under the mesh, but they have an old boy that fills the diggings in as they dig them  An S400 may have looked better in the pic, but I would'nt have whacked as many rabbits with one ;)

Nice bunnies there stealthy and a good write up. Its a shame that people leave their scrap lying around all over the fields these days. I hpe you took that home or someone may trip over it.

The only scrap in that pic was the lead that passed through the rabbits heads :D
