Just Ordered

Well thats me ordered my mk3m ferret finder with 2 collars from Arthur Carter it was £199 with p&p and a get a free packet of batts worth £10, should be here tomorow . Just curious has anyone ever got there partners to hide the collars somwhere so u can try and locate them to try it out, cause ive never used one before.

Dont know about you lads but it took me over a year to get used to the MK3, Ive been using it now for around 3 yrs and still make the mistake of fogetting to switch over from search to locate, very dis heartening when you think you only got to dig 1 foot then realise that when youve dug about 2 foot that you have forgotten to switch it over lol

well im expectin a secondhand mk3 terrier finder that im gonna use for the ferrets from ebay any day now.

and that has been my plan so far. i'm gonna get the kids to hide it in the house or in the back yard and see if i can find it.

 

should be intresting.

I ordered the same today myself cant wait. i have to wait to the end of the week for my free batterys. does anybody know what i would get for my mk 1 with 2 collars but one of the collars has snaped an a new one taped on.

And yes i do get my missus to hide it around the house so i can find it

Are the new mk3 collars compatible with the old mk3 boxes or you need the new box to turn them on & off?

yeah the new collars work fine with the old boxes, old box switches it on and off

Well got my mk3m today, it seems pretty simple to use. Got a lay up under my 2 seater in the living room, was only down 2foot so was an easy dig lol. Just had the collars on the ferrets, a bit of a struggle to get it on there necks but after a roll about for 5mins trying to shake it of they were fine and started playing about, suppose a will just have to repeat every night. has anyone got any tips on getting them used to it or does it just take time.THANKS

Personally only have put collars on when they actually go rabbiting ( even first timers ) they soon learn the collar means fun. I only to go in shed with a collar or ferret box and the place erupts with faces saying "me, me please"

 

From being young I also click my fingers when I want them to come to me, when they do I pick them up and give them a good stroke and play, 95% pf the time they will come out of the burrows to the click of fingers.

As for getting them out the holes my old 2 were trained to a set of jangling keys
