There's no one around here that goes out long netting, so I cant go with someone to learn Any help will be appreciated. Luke Quote Link to post

Luke As dark as possible (darkness is more important than wind), and a nice stiff breeze in your face then your net poles will be strianing to hold the rabbits up.Go on a moon light night or even a half moon and you will struggle unless you can find any blind sets.I dont bother unless its good and dark if at all possible...thanks..P&G Quote Link to post
Fat-Ferret 857
I read in the CMW a few weeks ago about someone in Australia trying long netting, But instead of rabbits, they got Kangaroos, so watch out! Quote Link to post
ferreterni 29
Was a documentary on a good while back. A tribe in south america setting long nets a driving small deer into them. Quote Link to post

ferreterni 29
Would imagine if you got a roo in a gill net, you'd destroy your net. Is gill netting quite fine nylon? Can you get some ferreting ground and bolt to the nets to get started, if it's night time netting you want a dark, windy night for best results, withthe wind blowing from the rabbits to you. Quietly set nets between feeding rabbits and the bury, then walk back round the field behind the rabbits and walk them into the net, shake a matchbox etc That's just a basic theory, never done it myself though. Best to get your nets up and practice a bit during the day before you try night time, as you'll need experience with the net and how they work. Loads more on here that do it and know much more, just keep asking and reading and people will help. Always interesting hearing how people get on in other countries. Quote Link to post
