dodger 2,765
I'd like to see a good acdxkelpie over a decent greyhound, should be handy, also reckon an acdgreyhoundxsalukigrey could be usefull. Quote Link to post

anagallis_arvensis 2
how about a cattle/greyhound put to a kelpe/greyhound I've always thought a NZ Huntaway would be a better bet. Quote Link to post
wild rover 548
Dont fancy watering ACD crosses with saluki or any other, first cross pre ban take all quarry, not hare coursers, if you want to course, stick to coursing breeds and cross. Many variations of ACD and Kelpie first, second and collie cross already exist, I have had ACD/GREY for last 16 years, currently have a ACD/GREY/WHIPPET aged 20 month and a 8 year old ACD/Grey. fireman 10,941
They can sure help in retrieving a long ear or two(3 of the 9 and the most bunnies that day) though and even get there first on one, faster than she looks(white bitch on left of pic)and at nearly 11 months is doing well in all i've asked and i ain't complaining . Good Luck. my mate has a nz huntaway dog and its feckin massive looks like a workin rottie with a tail, would have been a good cross pre ban for the big stuff although noise mite be a factor as the bugger never shuts up whilst workin that how they move the huge flocks of sheep they have plenty power thats for sure. fireman 10,941
Well Terrie and Wild Rover i myself like i say ain't complaining how she's coming on and the other pups are coming on well as well as far as i know, entering to retrieving bigger stuff solo and with help. She hunts and chases in silence but will growl at people and dogs no matter how near or far they are from me out in the field, someone would be doing well to sneek up on me out and about ,took her ferreting for the first time over the weekend and she did very well marking up and catching a bolted bunnie. She's learning the lamping game and will retrieve feather day or night as well,if she carries on going the way she's going she'll do me just fine. I no what ya sayin bud, but i was thinkin more along the lines of an alrounder than just a courser, i think a good acd greyxsalukigrey could be as usefull as a decent bull greyhoundxsalukigreyhound which there have been some belters. Tallyho 181
how about a cattle/greyhound put to a kelpe/greyhound I've always thought a NZ Huntaway would be a better bet. a farmer friend of mine has a huntaway and its the noisiest fecker ive ever heard you know when he is comeing up the road in his truck cause all you can hear is his bitch constant barking , even when she is at home in here kennel all she does is bark , i dont know if its a trait the huntaways have or just her , but after seeing and hearing her i wouldnt want a cross with it in just in case . poacher3161 1,766
Kelpy x has been around for a while, Purdy from ''Purdy's progress'' had Kelpy in, not sure how much but she seemed a decent enough little dog.Yes she was out of a grew x Kelpie and the lad who owned her said these crosses were not a good type for the inexspierienced dog man and hell of a lot of time needed spending on them to get the best out of them.atb dell Quote Link to post
