doxhope 2
There are NEVER any guarantees when breeding lurchers,.BUT,...blood does count for something,..and if you match a good dog,.with a good bitch,.then (in my opinion)...it certainly ups your odds.... Got to disagree with you there matie, there is one guarentee when breeding, DISAPPOINTMENTS.. Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
Its only my opinion but did half and 3quarter breds seem to get more popular after certain books were puplished in the early 80s.Its that i had a litter down in 83 and some lads were convinced better lurchers could be bred by going back to greyhounds???? atb dell Quote Link to post

undisputed 1,664
Have you got a touch of the alzheimers?, you said before that it made no difference what was in a dog or if the parents were tested as any dog if raised right would turn out a decent dog..........so which is it, dose it matter or not? And for the record, my dog is a mish mash of different stuff but just bred worker to worker........not that it matters of course folk with alzheimers talk more sense than you! this is a totally diff arguement I'm not arguing about breeding. I questioned a remark made about bitza's being superior to 1/2 or 3/4 x's and the remark about snobbery. And for the record in my opinion it doesn't matter. In relation to the remark about your own dog....you said awhile back it wasn't very good....so I guess you've answered your own question...maybe you if you put as much effort into the dog as you do talking guff it would be a world beater. As I said I've had both types my preference for 3/4 x's is based on knowing that in terms on conformation I will get a reasonably sized dog with a bit of pace...hope this has cleared it up for you....I'm of to take my medication have a nice day!
