For the nearest thing to all round graft, off good sound working parents, 'of pedigree unknown' or Bitza lurchers certainly get my vote

Keep this thred going folks, for I have just 'lost' my young girl and though gutted, i do know that its this type i'll be keeping forever more.

So show us what you have and tell us tales of their prowess, this could just become a great thred.... ;)

Does it not seem the majoritory of dogs bred worker to worker (or bitsas as there known) tend to be rough coated rather than smooth?

By the way heres my lad,, Big dog,, but was bred worker to worker, But i consider to be more of a wheaton cross,, as thats the main thing in the line.

This snobbery towards the bitza lurcher was started by yours truly d.b.plumer to boost sales for his mates puppy peddling buisness wile keeping bitza lurchers himself.I had never heard of them refferd to bitzas before it was printed in his books.IMHO a well bred bitza will out class any half or 3 quarter in the title of all round lurcher work.atb dell

:wallbash::wallbash: what a load of rubbish..... and before you start I've got both types

So were did the term bitza come from.We just called them lurcher to lurcher bred types????

Never mind him dell.Even we dont like him :tongue2: .lol.Catcher 1

I'll lose a lot of sleep knowing that....liked you better when you were a cheeky f****r now your just an arse kisser... :tongue2: In relation to the term bitza it had nothing to do with plummer...or snobbery....some of us just like to know whats in the dog....rather than take the word of a backdoor salesman....and what do you base your evidence on that bitza's are superior?

I thought it didnt matter what a dog was as long as it was brought on right? ;)

I have nothing against bitzas but the reason i dont use them is becouse there like lukey dips you dont know wether your pup will be 20inch or 28 fat or thin. i agree if you get the right one you have a f**king goodun bit i wouldnt go pay good money for a pup that i dont have a idea what it will end up like & i dont buy old dogs in so dont plan on getting a bitza any time soon. if you have one & its a good one show it & be proud you toke your chance & its payed of. most people that have worked dogs will have seen a good bitza some time i have seen a few good & bad bitza but i have seen some good & bad 1/2 3/4 ect of breed known lurchers aswell but its a good idea to do a thread going for the bitza.

My evidence is based on owning lurchers for the last 35 years were bitzas of the worker to worker breeding have far exceld the half crosses and 3 quarter breds i have owned for allround work on edible quarry.atb

Ok so your bitza's were superior to YOUR own 3/4 and 1/2 bred x's....you didn't make that clear in your sweeping statement! atb!
