This snobbery towards the bitza lurcher was started by yours truly d.b.plumer to boost sales for his mates puppy peddling buisness wile keeping bitza lurchers himself.I had never heard of them refferd to bitzas before it was printed in his books.IMHO a well bred bitza will out class any half or 3 quarter in the title of all round lurcher work.atb dell

:wallbash::wallbash: what a load of rubbish..... and before you start I've got both types

So were did the term bitza come from.We just called them lurcher to lurcher bred types????

my old bitch was lurcherxlurcher and done everything you asked of her from big game to rats and to me it was worth its wait in gold.if you have to good lurchers why not breed them as its worker to worker like they say to do with terriers [worker to worker] you might see a few people put there dogs on this thread good on ya mate.

nothing wrong with lurcher to lurcher or bitza what ever, but knowing whats in the make up helps as regards the phisicalitys of the pups after all its longevity genuine lurcher folk want,i know theres die hards in every lurcher breeding corner but for me to much greyhound for example doesnt do the mix to many favoures youve got to keep the lurcher functional wind brain feet the later for me above all , (no feet no dog).to many bitza types ive seen have been porley bred with no regard to these atributes but having said all of that ive seen bitzas that have been brilliant.i think that is why thinking lurcher men tend to stick to what they know is functional and that works for them be it what ever breed.

i think bitza is a abreviation of (bits of this bits of that) p.s i have a lurcher which sire was pure whippet and the dam was colliexgrey ,does this make her a bitza? not sure
