FOXHUNTER 5,021
I arrived on my ground this morning at 6 am and was greeted with a blanket of fog I stalked very carefully as I could only see about 100 yards in front of me but the morning sun was rising and burning the mist off quick I stalked along the edge of a small copse and viewed the grass field around the corner but nothing there. I then proceeded down the next hedgeline stopping about 200 yds further on. I stopped and looked back and there was a fox in the field where I had just checked out. I backtracked to the field but couldnt see the fox , so I set my rifle up on the sticks and did a little call . The fox immediately appeared in the far hedge but wasnt really interested. I watched him through my bins and he was casually coming down the hedgerow in my general direction. I let him come to about 120 yards where the shot was safe. I missed him with my 1st shot but he stood and offered me a 2nd attempt . No mistake this time Quote Link to post

Murph 30
Just got in from foxing at a release pen where they are very lamp shy due to the neighbouring estate selling their lamping, had the same as you, missed with the 1st off the sticks at 170 ish, made the 2nd shot count at 282yds though . The 2nd fox was in the same field off sticks at around 180yds, both little vixens, one this years cub, 1 last years. Edited September 12, 2009 by Murph Quote Link to post
