Trap Baits

Rabbits eat carrots. No brainer really but what other food "bait" does everyone use.

 

For example, I gave up on peanut butter for rats and use lard mixed with wild bird seed.

Squirrel, same bird seed but corvoids and pigeon boring old corn. :lazy:

 

Anyone got any unusual "always works" baits?

anchovy paste under the plate on a fenn trap for stoats, weasels and mink

lidl salami for fox, mackeral head also good

Butter for mice and jam piece for pine marten (not trapping just watching the martens)

I been told that marmite works a treat on fenn traps for rats.

You won't catch al the rats though, some love it, some hate it.

for corvids in a larson trap you can make a nest of eggs and they will come to that at the right time of year dead rabbits also work for them all the time in letter box traps call birds best a mating time, cat food will work in cage traps for foxes the lads have covered the best of the rest.
