stubby 175
How much is the infection ruffly?? Because If I cant get my hob done in time and the jills come in season I will need to get her jabbed my daughters two pet jills are still in season, no injection, no snipped hob, and are running around like lunatics, alive and kicking, as rich say's, its an old wives tale, I would'ent suggest ferreting with her though until she comes out Quote Link to post
pencoed hunter 7
Ok thanks stubby. Do you know when the hob will be old enough for the snip he's about 4 months old born 14th may Quote Link to post
Rory4 267
jabs last time cost me 15quid each, cheapest could find locally, how long will take her to come out season then? at what hob kit ready to be snipped? Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
I would leave the hob untill he is a little more mature, i know its not the same as castration & dont alter him in that way , but i just think he is still a baby at 16 weeks old , the jills will naturally come out of season very soon now as the day hours are a lot shorter now than they were 4 months ago The jill jab isnt a long lived solution sometimes you only get around 2 months out of it before they come back in , so 4 months is about right Quote Link to post
The one 8,479
Even with the jill jab they could still come in season 3/4 times a year and the jag is know to cause hard lumps under the injection site with repeated use The vet shouldn't snip your hob till his testes drop so your looking at next year now mate Quote Link to post
smokin 0
are they kept outdoors - as photoperiod (length of day) makes a big difference - mate of mine keeps his in shed with windows covered in the longer days hasnt jabbed em for 5 years to no ill effect. mine came in season twice this year too - used a borrowed snipped hob both times - got a couple of kits soon after her last session - shes been very motherly with them - quite funny seeing a small jill trying to drag a hob twice the size of her by the scruff back up the tunnel to the 'nest' - she usually succeeds too!!(eventually - usually the last thing you see is the back end of an upturned hob going up the tube!!!!) atb chris Edited September 11, 2009 by smokin Quote Link to post
