my ferret hutch

well i have 3 male brother polecat ferrets living together that were born on 8th may this year

 

all had been well but they are starting to get more aggressive with each other constantly fighting when they are awake, leaving a lot of cuts on the scruf of their necks.

 

so now i have decided to seperate them and house them individually in their own homes.

i have the ferrets as pets but do plan to hunt them very soon.

If it was me making the cub in the link I would make it a minimum of four feet long, tha way if you make the bedding area one foot wide you will still have one foot of space for each of your ferrets to grab food and be out of striking distance from each other if they squabble, but idealy make it as long as you can, bare in mind that they will fill the opposite end to the nestbox with scat, but other than that it is a sound design

well i have thought of the casteration option altho i wanna wait and see how they hunt and then maybe breed the best later in life (when & if i get a jill).

gonna have them standing independently in my back yard.

them dimensions for sleeping are a bit big 2ft x 1 ft , i would suggest no bigger than a shoe box size as any bigger & they will crap in the corner good luck with your project & your ferrets

nearly there,

i just have to screw hinges to fix the lid to the hutch and that will be that one finished.
