I went my usual walk this morning & took food for the swans , before i got to the pond i have been stopping of at a stream & just sitting under the trees hoping to catch a sight of a stoat i saw last week & was unable to get a pic of it .

Then i heard a russtling sound & looked behind me & saw what i thought was a white dog , but it was the swans & there young on foot , never seen this before & i did wonder how the adults had got these young to the pond as they have only been on there about 3 weeks , now i know, some epic journey as well moving them all safely from one pond to another i was pretty amazed

Sadly they came right up to me for food , there so hungry , no spitting from either parent, just wanting food , to make matters worse they have fed & now have got them selves into the stream which is totally unsuitable , i had to walk away as i couldnt watch them struggling to get over tree roots & i am worried there so much more easy prey to dogs etc being on land , very sad to see

Just a few pics i managed to get off them wandering around

I know they don't have a good reputation on here, but the RSPCA should be able to help Kay. This is probably what they do best. If you think these swans are in a dangerous situation, they could be caught and moved to somewhere more suitable.

Nice pics by the way!

Kay

They don't look in too bad condition, perhaps they are just wandering. I have seen swans living in quite dirty/over grown places and they have lived there for years bringing up their families. Perhaps they are quite tame and used to taking food from humans?

I saw on our local news this week that two swans were rescued by the USPCA because some retard had shot them with crossbow bolts!

i last saw them in the school playground last night , so dont know if they wandered back to find water through the night , i will go to the pond & see if there back on it tomorrow

The previous day i fed them & they were spitting venum at me i had to move as the pen was actually coming out the water , but the following day they were totally different , came up to me for food i sat cross legged feeding them & could have touched them they were that close

it's quite posable they just took the huff and desided away we go... they do sometimes. one of the lakes near here have a pair that sometimes take the huff at the cars, they take the brood and sit in the middle of the road threatning just the cars...looks like a protest lol.
