i am a haggis virgin..but always wanted to try it as i am told its like black puddin (which i love) so anyway..got 1 for ma dinner..so hows best to cook????

The best way is to steam it if you dont have a steamer do it in tinfoil in the oven add a little water in tinfoil to keep it moist have wiyh mashed potatoes & mashed swede.

firstly i would suggest chasing the haggis anti clockwise round the hill as right legs are shorter than there left ones and they will after many hours of chasing fall over dead due to central leg wind up syndrome first invented by the mctavish clan in 1666 i kid you not

 

 

how to cook Haggis

 

Cooking a haggis, no matter how fearsome it looks, is a terribly easy process if you roast it. And it means that there's no danger of it bursting as so often happens if you boil it.

 

Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/gas mark 4. Wrap your haggis in foil and bake it in the oven for about 45 minutes per 450g (1lb). When cooked, remove the foil and transfer to a plate. Serve accompanied by 'neeps and tatties', remembering the whisky and bagpipes (a CD perhaps) for the full Scottish effect
