Looking to bring this into my pups diet, he a 7 month old whippet, whos diet at presnt is a complete biscuit (royal cannin/pro prina) mixed with raw mince (from pet shop).

Im hoping to introduce him to fereting anyday now.

Im curious as to what fruits and or veg is used in this diet ?

and is it mixed with the meat/ scraps as one meal ?

what are the diffent meats reccomended and how the dogs deal with the bones ?

is pasta and or rice used ?

if all this is mixed in one meal it would be one hell of a dinner and would take ages to eat, any help you can give is appreciated.

Cheers guys

Hiya mate.

my russell dog was arround 6 months old when i put him on RAW.. my lakie x pup went straight on RAW at 13wks .. Both are doing very good on it, i will never buy that tinned stuff again.

i feed beef, chicken, tripe, all bones fed are uncooked meaty bones, never had any probs.. cheese/goats milk or any milk weve got in, raw eggs.. tuna plus left overs from tea.. also rice and pasta every now and then i could go on all day mate..

The majority of the veg i use, is spring greens, mixed with what evers cheap, i buy a load, stick it through the blender, and freeze it in batches, but i only add veg once a week or fortnight, so it lasts ages. I then mix this with tripe, or minced lamb/chicken. The majority of their diet consists of chicken carcass, chicken wings, rabbit, tripe and lamb mince, they cope with the bones fine, no problem. They also get cottage cheese, yoghurt, sardines, eggs, and offal (when there's some leftover in the fridge!). Sometimes add keepers mix, safflour oil, olive oil, cider vinegar, (probably once a week). I don't specifically add pasta or rice, but they probably get a bit from leftovers.

I think everyone does it differently, and as long as you are happy with the results, and your dogs are healthy who cares. The mistake I made was over complicating things in the beginning, trying to work out exact amounts, percentages and weights. Just make sure your pup has plenty of raw meaty bones, and meat, and it should do great.
