Hi John,

Is this your first application?

If it is, you would be firstly better off joining your local gun club in your area.

Get to know whos in the gun club and see if you can join.

If you dont know the gun club in your area, then it may be hard to get in, as most of them are a bit cautious to who they let in.

You should try and get to know them first if possible.

Frank.

I reckon you'd have as much chance getting it as anyone else would Bally.

As Frank said, joining your local gun club would make things much easier if it's possible. But after that, air rifles are considered firearms and the same requirements for licensing a .22 rimfire will apply.

You'll need to be over 16, have the permission of 2 landowners (this is not required if you are in a gun club) and be of good standing, i.e. not "known to the Gardai" and have a clean record.

If you meet those basic requirements, then I'd say have a go at it.

bally,

it's no big deal getting a it once you have written permission on 2 farms or else are joined a club.they don't like giving them out but if you call with a parent if your very young it shouldn't be too hard, they might get you to jump through a few hoops but what the hell

LOL @ the shamans british isles!!!!!!!!!

Call into your local police station. If they can't help you directly they'll know someone that can.

Pardon me saying, Chris, But; That might be the case in England, mate. I've personally found the Gardae to be the Last and the Least people to help you out here. BTCV could use these guys: Build stone walls with their f***ing eyes shut! :(

And yeah, Shaman: Wash your bloody mouth out!
