heladoxa 0
Hello Folks, John Knibbs Inrenational, airgun parts supplier, has had quite a lot of bad press on some of the various air-gun forums. I telephoned him yesterday for new mainsprings for a Relum Tornado. He was polite and very knowledgeable. I ordered the springs at 3.30 in the afternoon and they were in my hand at 10 am the next morning. Superbly packed. The gun is up and running and he has made an old man very happy! Phantom 631
I wasn't aware of any publicity good or bad about him, but having said that I don't use many other forums now (apart from a couple of catty forums, Airgun-Hunter and the UBC dedicated forum, which I run). Its good to know that there is still excellent service delivered from some commercial people Its getting rare these days Its also good to know that a (if you will excuse the terminology) Relic such as a Relum Tornado is been restored and looked after. My neighbours kid has one in .22, its battered to hell and back but he wont flog it to me to restore and use Oh and Welcome to the good ship THL Bill, Its a very good place for those seeking advice, from Technical to sneeking up on bunnies The people here are also good for a laugh as well All the best Phantom Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
Always use Chambers for my spares. Another Relum Tornado Owner!!! that makes two of us! lol. I used to wait for the school bus outside a fishing tackle shop and it was in the window for month's. I saved every penny I earnt to buy it, but one day it disapeared someone had beat me to it. My 12th Birthday comes around and theres a long, slim present tucked under the tree!!! My parents had bought it for me. I spent my money on scopes, mounts and 1000 Eley Wasps for it. I was out with it constantly and have some great memories wih it. I rebuilt mine last year but as yet haven't tried anything other than plinking with it. Quote Link to post
heladoxa 0
Hello Phantom, Hello Bullmastiff, Thanks for the replies and the welcome. Quite a number of people have said much the same thing ......My old Dad had one of them ......I found my old Dad;s old gun in the shed ...... Seems you either love them or you hate them. Most say, 'great gun, nobody has ever made anything better', or, ' if you like old Ford tractors you will like this' One guy said he remembered buying his in Woolworths for £26. Bull mastiff, how does yours come out for power, any idea? For example, at point blank range against a steel block, one of my guns in .22 will totally flatten a pellet. My Rapid 7 (not FAC) will disintegrate a pellet. You have to admit they are attractive because they are so ugly! Regards Bill Quote Link to post
