migmog 1
Hello THL members, I joined this forum yesterday and iv looked through a few section's just to check out some of the topics but one thing im not seeing is many on knives as these are a just as important to me as hunting its self so i just thought id use this topic as my first thread to introduce myself. So i was just woundering what type and makes and patterns of knives other Hunting Life Members use for cutting, hunting and skinning ect ? In most peoples eyes all a knife has to be is sharp no matter what it looks like but i personally like on that is very sharp well made and well engineerd. Here are to knives, one is a cheap but very well engineerd lock knife by Whitby witch i use in the field for skinning rabbits before i bring them home. Its stainless half stright edge and half serated edge witch is handy for a number of purposes and is only £12.99 from most knife dealers and field sports centers. The other is my favourite of all knives , its the HELLE, this knife i show here is the Harmoni Plus its a triple laminated stainless blade, the core is made of high alloy steel witch gives it a lasting, razorsharp edge. The core is protected by two layers of tough stainless steel and is ideal for skinning small or larger animals. The blade on this knife is shap enough to have a shave with but i iv yet to put this into practice but for the time being il leave that to Grizzly Adams if hes still knockng around! The HELLE Harmoni Plus will cost around £70 but in my eyes is cheap at that price for the blade and craftmanship that goes into making this absolutly superb knife. This is definatly a knife for life if you dont lose it or damage it beyond repair. So whats your knife of choice ? Edited October 2, 2009 by migmog
