Comp 0
.....Meat for me, too...... I (or rather, they!!) like luncheon meat, and half on one of them tinned Plumrose cocktail sausages you get at weddings with the pineapple on a cocktail stick works a treat!!! I also use them carping in stillwater, and you can see the 'oilslick' rising to the surface!!! dont know whats in 'em, and wont eat em myself,.. but the fish love em!!! {leave the pineapple, and cocktail stick off, of course,....... unless they are friends of the Groom..... } Cheers, Fred Quote Link to post
barry28 0
hello mate i found marine halibut pellets on hair with ground bait feeder works a treat aswell as maggot feeder with size 10 hook loaded with maggots also works well only seem to catch them at night though nice to hear how you get on Quote Link to post
OldTrapCollector 377
In one weir pool on the Severn I used to fish as a lad we used a tin of luncheon meat ripped into four big chunks - each chunk on a size 4 hook freelined. We cast the meat up onto the weir sill and within seconds of it hitting the water in the weirpool it was taken. Barbel varied from 3 1/2 lb up to 8 pounders If we used a leger, or cut the meat into cubes then it was ignored OTC Quote Link to post
neil r 1,861
Dynamites meaty marine boilies are the only bait i bother taking anymore , ive had countless barbel on them in the last 4 or 5 years on the ribble. I have caught on dynamites source and halibut boilies and nash monster puruit in the past but ive yet to find a better one than meaty marine. All i do with them is hair rig one and put 2 whole and 2 crushed ones in a pva mesh bag and thats it , no hemp or pellets just the hookbait and a couple of freebies . It works well on the ribble , ive only blanked once in 5 years doing it like this and i usually get multiple catches of barbel and chub Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
luncheon meat( never caught on pellets yet, halibut). Quote Link to post
Dakaras 3
Wouldnt touch meat now adays unless it was after dark or flooding. I would go with pellets or paste wrapped boilies (Dynamite Spicy Tuna and Sweet chilli this year) as above few crushed in pva bag with a handful of pellets. 16lb of Summer Thames gold Edited February 14, 2010 by Dakaras Quote Link to post
