Women showing dogs in working terrier shows!

Recommended Posts

After being away from the show circuit for a few years, this year i decided to go to a few and i couldn't believe my eyes, there were more women showing supposingly working terriers then men! Also i have never seen red dogs look so red and after looking at some of the judges hands it was obvious that they was coloured up. I thought i was at cruffs. Also some of the judging i have seen has bin scandaless undershot bent legged little things winning shows! I was also at the yorshire show for the first time in 6 years and i saw a blank an tan win a crossbred class now surely that dog belongs in B/T lakeland class!! I think me and showing will not be happning again. :angry:

Would it have made a difference if a fella had been in the ring with each dog ?

Yes it would of made a difference because a bloke wouldnt be showing a pet coloured up dog he would be showing a smart working type dog with natural colour.

Explain coloured up ?

Red chalk or die or spray or pot ash does that answer your question! (hairspray will be used next)

:clapper::clapper: ALREADY IS :laugh::laugh:

i work my lurcher bitch and i went to a lurcher and terrier shows for the first time earlier this year, frankly tis nice to see that there are woman out there involved with working dogs and i'm not rare, having said i would never put chalk or anything else on the dog but remember they use chalk etc on horses inc the hunter classes its all about making the dog look as best as it can . . you would have complained even more if the dog that beat your was covered in mud and shite! but then you won rvery show in the country so who are we to talk . . .

judges should be picking dogs with scars though. the fact is if its a working terrier show the only way your going to know if the dogs work is if you see a dog you recognise or the dog looks like its seen some action. and even that isnt 100% cus we all know some dogs get marked up from kennel fights and other things apart from work. but its about the only thing that a judge has to go by. so if people are upset by a marked dog winning they should go to kennel club shows and ponce around there instead :clapper:

Ffs. Shows are there to pass the summer months on a bit more quickly and are /or should not be taken too seriously. Sadly some people dont see it that way and get off on whinging about women and kids accompnying there other half to what should be a family day out. I recently took my wife to a show and she met some mates of mine. She has never laughed so much in her life as she did that day. Thats what it should be about. Having a laugh and meeting new faces. Not coming on here whining like a bitch because they failed to win first place. Winners are made in the field and earths, not in the fcuking show ring. rant over. atb stabba.

won every show in england - what a pathetic excuse of a human being! are you for real? i'd put money that the dog that beat you was shown by a woman!! well deal with it as more women get involved with hunting thats going to be the case, country shows are a great way to fill in the gap from march til september, tis a grand family day out! my daughter and neices come with me to these and you'll be charmed to know my daughter will be one of the lasses standing with a lurcher! be it on the field or in the ring! shows are for a giggle and to meet up with people who you wouldn't see otherwise, YOU are just the kinda person to bring the mood down,

go out and start collecting stamps you'll need something to make you feel good about yourself before season...
