Im paying £3.99 for 2kg bags of tripe/beef/chicken each need somehwere that i can get some bones from? anyone know of any places in lpool ? do you think im paying to much for the meat? I would say £ 3.99 for 2kgs is very over priced :icon_eek: . The lad i get mine of charges 60p a kg for tripe,minced chicken carcass or minced beef, and can get a big bag of chicken carcasses for £3. bullmastiff 615 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Share Posted September 3, 2009 That means their buying from wholesalers (only buying in the favorite cuts of meat, not whole/half carcess). Go back and ask them where they get their meat from. They should be able to give you a name of the wholesaler who should still have all the bones, scraps and cheap cuts. craigyboy 1,274 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Share Posted September 3, 2009 its becoming harder to get hold of meat these days mate,ive started going food shopping wi the wife,just so i can root through the reduced fridge,youl be amazed what you can get and at what price,last week i got a load of aberdeen angus and lambs hearts and ribs for 20p a tray and failing that the meat they sell thats not in the reduced fridge is as cheap as owt anyway,a kilo of chicken wings £150 and a whole chicken £2.06,the only downfall with it is the checkout girl whos serving you actually thinks you eat that value chicken :sick: Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Need to find a proper butchers, one that is in partenership with local farmers, i did and they sell me a bag for a quid, real good quality meat and fat.
