Dan_Smiff 2
I’ve been in the sportsman a few times and over heard their salesmen talking people out of Tikka’s/Sako’s and pushing them towards Steyr – then I went in there to look at the Tikka’s myself one day and sure enough, matey went in to the Steyr pitch within minutes. I’d be surprised if they don’t try it with you – no bad thing mind, I’m delighted with mine! Quote Link to post
Jaggsy 25
Great story by 'Outdoor-Jo' there, this is an excellent post by the way with some very knowledgeable contributions... all i'd add from my own experience is dont give up, i was after what i considered to be a decent rimfire and one eventually came up (a mint condition Sako Finnfire) apart from any obvious abuse (stock screws shabby etc.) you cant really go wrong, CF's are another matter as people have said regarding the barrels. Not sure why your local gun shop wants to talk people out of the Sako/Tikka route maybe there's more commisiin to be had with Steyr, good luck anyway Martin Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
Sportsman are the UK disty for Steyr. Which means if they sell you one of those retail they make a LOT more margin than if they sell you a Tikka. So I always preface any conversation about rifles with "I am not interested in Steyr" And STILL they try to sell me a Steyr!! Quote Link to post
