rifleshooter 0
now unfortunately i dont have the quality of stalking like some of you luckier shooters , this time however luck was on my side ,my local area has quite a few roe but they seem to stay in woodland that is council owned and a designated nature walk ,so its very rare that i see roe where i have permision a few ocasional does , this time luck was on my side, the wind was swirling so the aproach to the wood was difficult i saw a deer disapear into the wood ,i dont know if he got my scent or not , i decided to sit it out for a while to see if it would show again after about half hour or so i noticed movment in the wood then he showed up , a nice little buck he was feeding behind long white grass so a clear shot wasnt possible ,this brought back memories of my time out with p&g heart racing thinking he was going to dissapear again this time i was prone so a good steady shot was possible ,he raised his head a clear neck shot was there it was a case of keeping my cool and take the shot down he went like a bag of s**** , i waited just incase he got up but he didnt , chuffed to bits after well over a dozen outings i finaly baged one Quote Link to post

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Have you thought about getting someone to walk the wood out to you .This needs to be done by people who know what they are doing .On the other hand patience has paid off for you and a good result . Quote Link to post
