a little help and info needed

Hi i work ferrets and go shooting and i have been interested in birds of prey for a bit know and i have the chance to get a goshawk i was just wondering if this would be a good bird to start with because it has already been work and i did'nt want to buy a bird and have to train it myself just in case it flew away any help would be greatful.

I would look at finding a mentor before buying a bird mate falconry will take up most of your time to be honest and if you can relate with your mentor about your bird you will learn a lot more personally from experience I would go for a male Harris hawk they seem a lot calmer and are fun to work with. Them Gos and red tail hawks are a different kettle of fish which has been pointed out to you I started with a kestrel as a kid then went on to a Harris "which am still learning about" Harris hawks make excellent hunters and flyers and companions. If possible try and find some one close by that can offer you first hand experience first that would be better for you and your pocket mate good luck on your journey in to the magical wonders of falconry it is certainly an awesome experience. :thumbs:
