Thanks for all the encouragement, (although Longnetter, I am a female  )

The ferret is still really quiet, but is eating and drinking so I have every hope he'll make it.

I'm not worried about the cuts on his back as they don't seem too sore for him. He has what looks like a big bruise on his underside and a lump on his face - maybe a dodgy tooth or something, but since I'm cutting up all his food tiny, and its going down, I hope this isn't too bad a thing for him.

I'll try and find my camera charger and take some pictures for you all.

Thanks Kay, I'll keep on the case. He's picked up a lot, he was walking about inquisitively last night for the first time since I've had him.

In the top couple of photos you can make out the lump on the right side of his face and also he has a 'gunky' left eye. The vet said the lump could be an old injury, and even if new, would take a long course of strong antibiotics, so he said just to wait and see. So long as he's eating lots and putting on wieght, I don't think he can be in too much pain?

Steph the lump could be an abcess as you have mentioned puncture wounds , maybe a cat had a go at him

The One - the vet said to bath him, but I haven't, as I didn't want to stress him out any more. He's not been scratching, I think most of that black in him is flakes of dried blood from the scabs and cuts. Do you think I should wash him? I have been leaving him alone to sleep and eat as he wants ~ this is the first time I've taken him out of the cage, and he was back to his sleeping within 10 mins, his house is very cozy. He's on a mixture of minced pork, chicken, lambs liver and 1/2 egg/day.
