coursing man 10 Posted August 31, 2009 Report Share Posted August 31, 2009 [im sick of idiots who give hunting a bad name,were i live we have some lads who go lamping at night in a saubru,soon as the crops are cut there out on land they dont have permision on and they shoot anything in sight even hares at this time of year,when winter comes round theres nowt for me to run as what they have'nt shot they've scared away with the constant hammer they get.i fermly believe that things that run on the ground should be left for the dog man anything that flys is for the shooter. I'm sure you mean pre-ban? You also have to remember that ground game (rabbits and hares) can also be considered to be pests, and that the only legal way to control hares is to shoot them. At this time of year there is only a short window before new crops are planted to get numbers down and prevent damage to winter cereal crops. You may believe that running dogs are the best way to control rabbits and hares, but others have a right to believe otherwise. If you reduce the numbers of rabbits on your permission during the winter months, then there shouldn't be too much for the farmer to worry about at this time of year. Each to his own............. Theres tracks all over fields near me as well, trying to tell people that 'genuine' lads dont trash fields. Doesnt help when the tracks go up the back of the hedges & next morning stuff gone out of the sheds. But now we'l see if that was the real reason or was it the fact that a moderator had to get abusive towards kids and young members. This should be intersting to see ?
