nod 285
You will get answers from both them that like jills and them that like hobs, its up to u what u get people say jills get behind them and push them out better, or hobs cause of their power either will do the job. some times they will bolt em some times they will kill em, depends on where the rabbit is down the hole. stubby 175
for a first ferret which would be best 2 jills or 2 hobs or 1 of each chers are you going to be ferreting all year, or just winter months, reason I ask, some people dont like using jills in season for ferreting, so if that were the case, Id suggest two hobs, yes trying to put two unknown hobs together would result in fights, but two hobs that have been kept together since birth may, as mine have, already know the pecking order and therefore have no need to fight, if your just going to ferret winter months, get a couple of jills, as long as you keep the cage/court clean and feed healthy diet then there is no need to worry straight away about bringing them out of season, especially in their first year, the old wives tale that they will die is not true, otherwise the two sitting at my side (daughters pets) would be dead by now, then you can always get a hob in the second year, if needed Quote Link to post
