wexford Pa 84
Cant believe this could ever in this country thats built on rural traditions and lifestyles.. We gotta fight this now cos if you think its hard to fight it now it'l be 100 times harder if its ever past.. The thing i find hard to come to terms with is that all of these people are tryin to pass this law without publicity and it could be upon us before we know it.. Any lads got any ideas what we can do before this gets any further? Yours in sport.. Pa Quote Link to post

Doubt we will ever allow our country to become one that lacks identity and quintessential lifestyle. Too much to be proud of. Quote Link to post

shovel 160
Hi. I was also at the meeting in eire og last week.John Gormley and the greens still have on ban on foxhunting at the top of their agenda. They may not get an outright ban on foxhunting but will gradually keep introducing legislation to make it as difficult as possible to hunt and stay within the law. All attendants at the meeting were asked to lobby, ie email or write a letter to all TDs and Councillors to let them know exactly what we think of Gormley and his legislation. The Hunting Assoc Of Ireland is holding a Rally in support of Hunting and Countrysports on the 17th of October at Punchestown Racecourse in Naas Co. Kildare. I ask ALL HUNTING and COUNTRYSPORTS people to attend this rally and we will show this Gormley fella exactly what he is dealing with!! Quote Link to post

Lads just an Idea but could you let us know on the site when the meetings are on in the future. It might be a good way forward in creating awareness and educating ourselves on the best way to preserve our sport through the Ideas of different individuals .Nothing too serious just to talk it out over a few pints. I said it before but this battle will be won by UNITY nothing else... Ps cheers for putting up the date for kildare Atb CB Edited August 31, 2009 by Countryboyo Quote Link to post
shovel 160
I agree CB unity is definately the only way. In future ill post on here in advance of any meetings i hear about .The more support at these meetings the better. atb shovel. Quote Link to post
jaykay 2
Unity means a voice where politics are concerned. This new gun licensing process at the minute might give us access to a data base of all shooting men/dog men in the country. If we can get the names etc, through the NARGC perhaps, then we could possibly contact the majority about these topics. After all only a very small percentage will view this site. Attack is the best form of defense when it comes to this government. They have already changed their minds on several things this year when the people reacted. Quote Link to post

I suggest starting a thread to find out every Irish(wo)man on this forum and pm them the email addresses. the sooner we let them know that we wont make it easy for them the better. We need to be very organised and calculated on how we deal with this. If each T.D got a few hundred emails in the next week while the stove is still hot then we might have a chance of getting a point across. Any other Ideas? Quote Link to post
Guest MADRA DUBH
Those Greens have a list as long as my arm of different proposals to fxck up hunting in Ireland ,if even one slips the net in my opinion it will be the beginning of the end .Some may laugh but this very subject was talked about in the past ,about 2 years ago either on this or another forum ,oh it wont happen ,ect ,believe me it will if people dont act now.
