jazz_11 5
as we pulled up yesterday i turned my head and saw a big orange thing running away.. STOP THE CAR!!! jumped out grabbed the gun, grabbed the fox cartridges... had a look for him but no sign except of where he went into the forrest, i could of tracked him into the forrest but i had my dad and teh other lad i was taking out shooting waiting at the car. .there was what looked like rabbit internals lieing where i seen him run from... we did shoot a rabbit that evening but it had mixi so we left it for him and hopefully i will get him on tuesday or wednesday when i go out... Whats the best way to go about it? lamp im guessing and whats the furthest i can shoot away from it im thinking about 20 yards.... whats the best way to do it? lay out some shot rabbits then sit and wait down wind of him, will he stay in that one area or could i expect to see him over the other side of the farm on tuesday? advice needed this one will be my first but he is going to be a dead fox soon... cheers Quote Link to post

Guest hyperion
walk your land untill you find a well worn fox run through a hedge or ditch thats safe to shoot then find some where to sit in comfort and wait on a few early mornings or evenings and you will get him soon enough! or if its just the one beast and hes not doing a whole load of harm you could just leave him be and enjoy seeing him about! cheers hyperion Edited August 31, 2009 by hyperion Quote Link to post
jazz_11 5
no never shot a fox before which is why i want to make sure everything is perfect, and he needs to go, i told the farmer i saw him and they did ask that i would take care of him... im not going to use the shotty now a friend is going to come down with his rifle which seems to be ther better tool for the job on the lamp.. cheers Quote Link to post
