Charging equipment

Just got myselft a bottle that came with another gun I bought and I havn't a clue about bottles :icon_redface: I know It's a 300 bar one but where can I find the test date? It has 00/07 stamped on the collar so I'm taking a guess that that Is the born date? Aparently It's pritty new anyway and there is no other stickers of test dates on It.

Is the valve on the bottle a surface type or am I gonna have to go get It tested every 2.5 yrs?

Here's where the bottle screws into (a rapid bottle) What reducer do I need so I can put a hose on? Once the hose Is on I'll put a quick connector on so I can swap the fill probes for my different rifles more easily. I *think* the buddy bottle on the rapid uses a 1/2" thread so would I be right In saying I'll need a male to male 1/8" to 1/4"?

Sorry forgot to tell you the stamp date ......... its was born the 7th month of the year 2000 so its a bit overdue for its test but that,s not a problem just get a hydro done or they are not going to fill it.

Cheers mate. I was hoping It was still In test but aslong as It paases I'm not too fussed. There Is another engraving On It. It mentions 02 so even then It will be out of test but does the hydro test get engraved in to the tank or just a sticker put on?

I'm new too using bottles but can't see them being all the much harder to use.

The bottle does indeed need a test. He said It was last done In 02 so It's gone In at a cost of nearly 40 quid and that's assuming It doesn't need blasting :o Think i should of just replaced the seals In my pump :D

Get down to your local PIRTEC or any hydraulics specialist they will fix you up with all the fittings and pipework you will need

I got snap connectors pipe work and fittings for 2 guns for £25

Go for the high pressure pipework I got a yard of hose (makes filling a lot easier)

Cheers mate. I'm not bothered about skimping on price. When there's 200 bar or so going through them a few extra quid I will gladly pay for piece of mind. I think I'll get the best fittings kit and the rest of the stuff from BAR.

Maty ... don't worry about the quality of the filling kit. I kow 200 bar sounds like a lot if you think in tyre pressure terms but in the little area that you have in a micro bore tube and the holes in the fittings it is not dangerous at all and I would just get the ceapest deal that I could get.

It would still leave me needing new keks If something blew :o

I was getting the best fittings kit anyway Scuba - I wouldn't call It cheap but It saves me messing around with spanners everytime I come to fill the different guns / bottle combos. I managed to pick up the 1/4 to 1/8 connector for only a couple of quid. I still don't know for sure that's what i need but It sounds about right
