Lerk 0
Same method for wrapping here... Wilko's round here are getting rid of summer stock and have tent pegs for half price, close up the end into an eye and these work well Quote Link to post
The one 8,511
Youve bought cheap nets and as result your short on drawcord a pet hate of mine as if you cant get the peg in once youv'e set the net you cant really move the peg much when i make my nets i put plenty of drawcord on them in case you need to move the pg in case you cant get it in for a rock ,hard ground etc i just fold the net in half then half again then wrap the drawcord round the net .if it was up to me i would buy some drawcord and rethead your nets giving them a bit more lenght it wont be expensive and you should reap the benifits Quote Link to post
sue 1
i use those thin tent pegs ,they work well Quote Link to post
rosspti 2
Hard ground here too boy, in places. Best thing is to get a nice stone about 6" across. DONT use it as a hammer, but just sit it on top the peg and then push. Just like with a drawing pin, the bigger area means less pain on your hands and therefore easier to put all your weight behind it. Again, don't be hammering and thumping the ground cause the bunnies will think its World War 3 and run for the bunkers! As for folding up, stretch out the net first with the rings as far apart as possible. Then fold double, and again and again until its about 6". Use the cord to wrap around nice and tight. If you haven't got enough cord to do that, then get buy some cord and make them longer cause with that little cord you'll never be able to set the nets out fully. ATB Ross Quote Link to post
max abell 196
We dont use wooden pegs for that reason changed all our 250 odd nets to the thin metal tent peg type give some a try we would never go back to wood again As regards the draw cord on your nets change the cord and make them longer its a easy fix and quite cheap too short cords are a pain good luck mate whatever you decide to do Quote Link to post
