hair loss in ferrets

hi all i am new t hunting life but to kick things off over the summer i have lost two of my best woring jills they started lossing there hair and then all of there wight and then died , i now have another jill that is lossing here hair but at the min she is keeping her wight on i have not chaned there food or the type of beding that i am using does ne one think they may no what has made my ferrets go like this :wallbash:

do you mean total hair loss exposing skin or just moulting out the old coat , leaving the downey undercoat

its hair loss exposing all of the skin :wallbash:

Anaemia???

I'd get it checked by a vet, otherwise you may find another stiff...

 

Look into either Jill Jabs or vasectomised hob to bring your jills out of season - vasectomy will probably cost less than putting your jill back right - this time - and you won't run into the same problem again

Had this once vet said it was a type of mange scarotoptic or something like that spelling probebly different any way tryed everything and when i shoed my grandfather he said bath in sulphur water twice daily and beleave you me i worked but she came back more of a ginger than yellowy / white as she was befor he said all the old ferreters he knew would regularly bath dogs ferrets etc in this water to give them condition to prevent these conditions , give it a try Google and see if their is any sulpher springs near you,stiks like rotten eggs but dont smell after get a glass down you supose to be good for you

happened to mine mate many years ago,remember a old boy telling me something about liver damage or kidney failure might be total boll*x but hey who knows atb
