My red patterdale terrier bitch is 5 days past her due date for pups ,im just wondering how many days can they go over .The problem is I cant take her to vets because of working scars .

I HAVE HAD A BITCH GO SEVEN TO TEN DAYS OVER EACH TIME SHE HAD PUPS, LAST TIME SHE CAME IN HEAT I MATED HER ONLY ONCE, PHOTO AND DATED THE MATING, AND SHE WENT A FULL 7 DAYS OVER AGAIN, IT ALL HAS TO DO WITH HOW FERTILE THE EGGS AND SPERM WAS, AND HOW LONG THEY LAST IN A BITCH.

Live sperm can stay alive inside a bitch for upto 7 days, so just because you get a tie on a day or even a couple of days after dosn necesairly mean the bitch will take on that day like p***y says.

Some bitches wont stand for a dog until the day they are exactly ready other bitches will stand beofre they are ready.

 

I wouldn be worrying just yet valley lad, if she goes much further p.m i will try help you get her started.

I wouldn't worry unless she started to look uncomfortable. It might pay to ask about & look for an understanding vet incase there are any complications

Thanks for the replys .Its a shame that there are so many miss understanding vets around me.She is a 7 year old bitch that i have had a litter from 3 years ago without any probs ,to the day to be exact.I will keep you posted many thanks
