As far as I know the government did a census a couple of years ago in Wicklow with the intention of wiping out the Muntjac but the census proved that numbers were too great.

There's rumours of Roe and Wild Boar too.

just wondering if there is any muntjack in ireland as there are on the hunting license this year and in season all year round.

Muntjac are supposed to be in and around the Avoca valley.

In the wild?? I haven't heard of anyone coming across them, out shooting or with the many packs of hounds that hunt in both those ares?

i spent a week in the wicklow area stalking sika and hybrid deer. never bumped into any munty though,shame. managed 5 sika and a hybrid.

i think it was ballygobben and kilranalagh i was about( excuse the spelling).

Muntjack have been "found" in Wicklow, Wexford, Waterford, Cavan and Leitrim. Apparently there are wild boar in Cork,and Galway. I have not heard anything of Roe Deer although with the above 2 already released roe would not surprise me!
