ferretess 230
I never seen the point of them before when you can use route planner on the net till i was in Africa a few months ago and really needed one bad when you get lost in the wrong area was down at Sherwood Forrest country last week and i borrowed one and i was so glad to many wee roads that ain't on the map but the woman's voice started getting annoying after a few hours and every time she told you to take the next turning on the left / right she rang a bell thought someone was texting me But i must admit i didn't get lost or take the scenic route

just jack 998
a couple of years ago i was doing a coarse down in cirensester (spelling) i got there ok but on the way back it told me to go down this LANE, so i thought feck that, drove past but it was adamant i took it, so 2 drive by's and i buckled, this was a single track about 1 1/2 mile long, it brought me out on the dual carraige way that i needed, its a good job the farmer left his fcking gate open at the other end though
Kay 3,709
I dont drive but i was watching a shopping chanel a few mornings ago & they had tom tom sat navs on, and i heard them say you can use then if your on foot as well, that would help me no end as i can never find my dads car in the supermarket car park unless he stands outside the drivers door

ssssh1forthepot 0
They are good I use one daily, but dont allways trust them 100% if your driving and it doesnt feel right dont follow it blindly. Ive had a few occasions where Ive ended up going the wrong way. Once nearly got stuck in a bottle neck that you would struggle to get a mini through never mind a 3.5 tonne Van! the worst time I ended up driving into a ford through a river and down the river for 1/4 of a mile before it turned back into solid road luckily I was in the works van so I just floored it and didnt really care.
