Gun Rust

Thinking of cleaning up my gun its second hand and its got a bit of rust on it. Whats the best way to do this?

Is there a lot of rust or just a little, you may get away with just a polish?

I dont think its alot, not sure tho. what do you polish with?

try abit of brasso or even just some wd40 and a microfibre cloth if that doesnt help you might need some tcut

i have some fine surface rust on my barrel on the hw90, so if you brasso it off will the rust not just come back again? i have kept it oiled so the rut doesnt progress any but i thought that once it swas there it was there for good without taking it back to good metal

they told me in my localgunshop to use a bit of, scotchbright on it lightly and then oil it with WD40 or brasso and i did and it came up lovely but the rusts come back

 

i only got the rust after i did it with napier gun oil.

I just used some wd40 it didnt get rid of the rust made it look better tho.

then try the tcut fella and after its gone keep it oiled with wd40, i did mine every 2 week or after every outing

yup thats the one and its not too abrasive otherwise the blueing will be effected
