One dog one ferret no nets and no rabbits...............

Recommended Posts

I am dying to get started this season but the weather is far too warm and the ground way too hard, but as we had some rain last night I thought I would have a quick look see with Ted this morning while there was still a chill in the air. Didn't take any nets just the dog ferret spade and locator. I only did a small bury and to be honest the dog didn't stand much of a chance as there is cover quite close on both sides. The first rabbit that bolted Ted nearly connected with but a badly positioned tree stopped him in his tracks but he recovered and ran it into the cover of a nearby hawthorn bush. The second rabbit sneaked out the back way and was unsighted by Ted until it was too late but the last rabbit was ran well, Ted turning it two or three times but unable to connect before it reached sanctuary of the nearby hedgerow............................enjoyable morning all the same

Nice to see you & Ted back on the site Mag! Can't wait to do a bit myself, my terrier marked a nice open bury about a week ago, I'm tempted to take the ferret out there for a quick run though. I haven't seen any tiny rabbits for a month or more. :hmm::thumbs:
