any tips on buying a lurcher

Recommended Posts

Its grand to advise you on a bullx for foxes but i wouldnt personaly if you where a first time lurcher owner as they can be a handfull it depends on the cross tho . wouldnt advise a half cross. Id go for a first cross deerhound greyhound .They should take fox with ease and do very well on rabbit and hare.

Have a look at chris hicklings wheaten hound pups theres 2 bitchs left but there very well bred If they turn out anything like the sire or dam they will be very handy pups.

they arnt the easiest breed to train

Chalk it down bull101. They arnt the easy to get going. Another ideal cross would be a first cross collie hound .

would they be any good on foxes though

One of the best dogs i saw take foxes was a first cross collie hound . He had a knack in catching them but he was a big dog and had the power to kill within a few shakes. You could be better off buying a pup . The wheaten cross i was talking about ar in the uk they will be a handfull.

You have a massive choice It just depends on what you want out of the dog

Just to take foxes?

How many foxes a week would you want to be knocking?
